Cabaret summer/fall season will open with Broadway and TV star Cheyenne Jackson

“We are thrilled to continue our yearlong soirée with a line up of stellar artists,” said Shannon Forsell, executive director of the the Cabaret at the Columbia Club," Tuesday when she announced the nightspots 2014 summer/fall season. “We continue our commitment to presenting unforgettable nights with world-class, captivating artists up close and personal.” The season will include a mix of Broadway, cabaret, jazz and a holiday show. Also included is a tribute to Janis Joplin brought back by popular demand.

The mission of The Cabaret is to "elevate and promote the cabaret art form by presenting the finest in professional cabaret performances and developing the next generation of cabaret artists." It's a professional 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

Here's an at-a-glance look at the season menu.

"Cheyenne Jackson's Cocktail Hour Music of the Mad Men Era," July 11, 8 p.m. & July, 12, 7 p.m. & 9:30 p.m - Star of Broadway, Glee and 30 Rock will sing songs from the '50s and '60s.

Karen Irwin: "A Piece of her Heart: A Tribute to Janis Joplin," July 25, 8 p.m. & July 26, 7:00 p.m. - With anecdotes and Joplin songs including “Mercedes Benz,” and “Bobby McGee,” Irwin pays homage to the musical icon.

Steve Kazee, August 23, 7 p.m. & 9:30 p.m. - Tony and Grammy Award-winner - An evening of original alt-country tunes as well as songs he originated in the Tony Award winning musical," Once".

"Sara Gazarek: Blossom & Bee," Sept. 12, 8 p.m. & Sept. 13, 7:00 p.m - Jazz singer will perform songs from her newest acclaimed CD, Blossom & Bee.

."Jeremy Jordan: Breaking Character," Oct. 10, 8 p.m. & Oct. 11, 7:p.m. & 9:20 p.m. - Broadway, film and TV star will perform songs from Broadway's "Newsies," "SMASH," and his upcoming film, "The Last 5 Years," along with his own personal favorites.

Rene Marie: "I Wanna Be Evil: With Love to Eartha Kitt," Oct. 17, 8 p.m. & Oct. 16, 7 p.m. & 9:30 p.m. - Will pay tribute to Eartha Kitt, singing songs such as "C'est Si Bon," "Come On To My House," "Peel Me A Grape," and more.

"An Evening with Christine Ebersole," Nov. 14, 8 p.m., Nov. 15, 7 p.m..- Two-time Tony winner ("42nd Street", "Grey Gardens) and star of the hit TV series "Sullivan and Son," will present an evening of classic standards and Broadway songs.

"A Swingin' Christmas," Dec. 10-12 & Dec. 13, 7 p.m., With NYC's Birdland regulars Jim Caruso, Klea Blackhurst, and Billy Stritch will host an evening reminiscent of a holiday TV special with arrangements of "It's The Holiday Season," “I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm,” and others.
