Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for a little French culture beyond fried potatoes and The French Laundry. Instead, how about you treat yourself to some real, live French cabaret in a beautiful opera house? Coming up real quick-like, as in April 17, 2014, the French quintet known as Paris Combo will be taking the stage at Napa’s newest hotspot for live entertainment, City Winery Napa.
Called “subtle, sophisticated and seductive” by Paul Freeman of the San Jose Mercury News, Paris Combo is an eclectic bunch that mixes jazz, Gypsy, cabaret, and world music into a show that is as sexy and sybaritic as it is ebullient and effervescent. Since 1995, Paris Combo has delighted audiences around the world with their extravagant style, bold arrangements, and sassy stage presence. With cabaret, in general, but especially when the charming and glamorous Belle du Berry is up front with mic in hand, you are never too far from your next nod and wink experience.
This Thursday evening show couldn’t be timed better for those among us who don’t have to work on Friday, thanks to the Good Friday/Easter Sunday three-day weekend. Heck, even if you do have to work the following day, you deserve to treat yourself every once in a while to something a little exotic, playful, and yes, romantic. Top that off with some lovely libations and tasty vittles served to you at your stage-side table, and you certainly have a an evening to remember on your hands.
Tickets for the Paris Combo show range from $25 to $35 and can be purchased through the City Winery Napa website by clicking here. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 8. City Winery Napa at the Historic Napa Valley Opera House is located at 1030 Main Street, right in the middle of downtown Napa. Plentiful parking is available across the street and all around the venue. See you at the show!
