C2E2 Reveal: Marvel Axis to follow Original Sin

See also

Original Sin has just barely begun and Marvel has already revealed their next company-wide event. Day 2 of C2E2 saw many teases involving Original Sins of our favorite heroes. However, in what could be the most exciting news of the day, Marvel revealed a logo with the word “Axis.” The A is stylized similarly to the “A” in Avengers, while the “X” is the X-Men logo. Marvel’s panel moderator Mike Marts declared Axis the “Next big thing for Marvel.”

Marvel has been known to tease new books and tie-in events using single words. The most notorious tease was the word “Superior” appearing in a teaser as the Amazing Spider-Man series was reaching its climax to issue #700. Ultimately, that was a tease for Superior Spider-Man. “AvX” was another single word tease campaign that brought Avengers vs. X-Men to the Marvel universe.

After the events of Avengers vs. X-Men, a new series was launched, written by Rick Remender and drawn by John Cassaday. The Uncanny Avengers took members of both the X-Men and the Avengers and formed a new team of Avengers. Each Marvel event that has occurred, has led to catastrophic consequences for our favorite heroes. Are we in for Avengers vs. X-Men round 2? What could Axis mean to the Marvel universe? Expect the event to hit shelves around fall season.
