Come spend an intimate evening with a literary icon! This one-man show captures the personality and fiction of the author of The Chronicles of Narnia and The Screwtape Letters, an Oxford don who could make his audience think as deeply as he made them laugh. Melding conversations with the audience and pieces of his famous literature, C.S. LEWIS ON STAGE gives us a closer look at a man we've all read, but know almost nothing about.

The design team includes Scenic Designer Carl Ulaazek, Lighting Designer Chazz Malott, Props Designer and Set Dresser Mary O'Dowd, and original music by Alaric Jans.

C.S. LEWIS ON STAGE begins previews on September 3, with the opening performance on September 6. The show will run Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 3:00 pm through October 19 at Provision Theater, 1001 W. Roosevelt Rd., Chicago, IL, 60608.

Provision Theater ticket prices range from $10 to $32 and include free parking. Groups of 10 or more receive 10% off (adult tickets only). Subscriptions to Provision's 2014-15 Season are also available.

"My first introduction to C.S. Lewis was the through the world of Narnia and our Encyclopedia Britannica," says veteran Chicago actor Bradley Armacost who stars in the one-man show. "When I shared my delight in reading The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe with my father he sent me off immediately to learn more about this fascinating man who was equally at home writing for adults, children, academics, philosophers and theologians. I remember my father being delighted that I took an interest in Lewis' work, as he considered him "one of us."

Over three decades C.S. Lewis On Stage has been performed internationally including appearances at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Harvard University, Yale University and at Oxford University (by invitation of C.S. Lewis' stepson, Douglas Gresham).

"That universal voice rings as clearly today as it did fifty years ago," says Armacost.
