BW-3: American bar and grill with plenty of sports action

Chain dining establishments are not generally associated with a great beer selection. Most of them tend to stick with the mainstream, macro- brewed products such as Budweiser, Miller, Coors, etc., with only one or two craft beers in the mix. But there a few exceptions and one of them is Buffalo Wild Wings, otherwise known as BW-3, a bar and grill chain restaurant with approximately 22 locations in the greater Houston area. Here is a quick list of facts about this chain restaurant:

Founded:1981, in Kent Ohio

Who Founded:Jim Disbrow and Scott Lowery

Number of Locations:About 750 in 45 states

Headquarters:Minneapolis, Minnesota

Type of Restaurant: Bar and Grill/American Food

BW-3 is best known for its wings, offered with an assortment of choices that range from sweet and mild to blazing hot. But there is more to eat at BW-3 than just wings. The restaurant also sells sandwiches, wraps, salads, burgers, appetizers, and more. Prices are moderate and there is generally something for anyone on the BW-3 menu.

As for beverages, Buffalo Wild Wings does have more to offer than the typical chain restaurant and the selection should bring at least a moderate smile to the faces of craft beer lovers everywhere. Yes, BW-3 carries the usual Budweiser, Bud Light, Miller Lite, etc., but there are several craft beer options such Sierra Nevada, Red Hook, Samuel Adams, Guinness, and several others. The beer menu varies by location, with some offering beers not offered at others, along with local craft beer selections.

BW-3 is just as much about atmosphere as food and although there are slight differences from one BW-3 to the next, every location can be counted on for a large number of flat screen televisions with plenty of sports action. Sports viewing is, in fact, one of the key reasons individuals and groups of friends like to visit their local BW-3. Baseball, football, basketball, soccer- you name it, BW-3 is showing it. Along with the sports, guests can play a few video games and request some tunes on the jukebox to make the visit more enjoyable.

BW-3 is still growing and expanding and will likely be found in all 50 U.S. states at some point. Houstonians have almost two dozen locations in the metropolitan area with the newest location located at 19910 Park Row, in Katy. Houston area locations offer about 20 to 30 beer products each with St. Arnold craft beer ranking as the most popular local offering of choice.

With so many things to offer- including a decent craft beer menu- it isn’t difficult to see why BW-3 is such a fast- growing and popular restaurant chain. It makes a good choice when you want to watch some sports, enjoy some American food, and sip on your favorite beer in the company of other sports and entertainment- minded folk.
