Buying a Gift for Fido This Season?

According to a new Associated Press-Petside.com poll, a majority of all pet owners are planning to buy gifts for their pets this holiday season. 53 percent of pet owners said their pets will receive gifts under the Christmas tree, which may surprise some folks but those of us who have pets know that pets are often our best family members.

56 percent of dog owners plan to buy gifts, and 48 percent of cat owners will wrap up catnip or cat toys for their four legged friends. Some feel it is easier to buy a gift for dogs, both because there are more options in pet stores and also because dogs are often considered more playful than cats.

Are you buying a gift for your dog or cat this holiday season? Do you give a gift to one pet and not the other? Share your stories!
