Dillinger may be better than Public Enemies.
Not sure which DVD to pull off the new release shelf? Need a new Blu-ray to show off in 1080p? Or maybe you're looking through the new releases on Netflix and don't know what to add to your queue?
This week you'll find a theme in the DVD and Blu-ray releases, all in preparation for an upcoming summer blockbuster:
Dillinger - Buy-it - You don't need to wait for Depp's Dillinger film, we haven't seen it yet but this may be an even better mobster movie!
Waltz with Bashir - Rent-it - Is a documentary still a documentary if it's animated? This beautiful graphic-novel looking film takes on the 1982 Lebanon War.
Code - Rent-it - A caper drama starring Morgan Freeman and Antonio Banderas going for one last heist to pay back debts to the Russian mob (see the theme yet?).
The Jaundiced Eye - Rent-it - An investigative documentary about a Michigan man who served ten years in prison for "supposedly" abusing his son.
Backwoods - Skip-it - A corporate paintballing retreat turns into a horrifying game with locals.
Confessions Of A Shopaholic - Skip-it - Another movie about a ditsy, snobby, New Yorker at a fashion magazine who loves to shop... Really!?
Inkheart - Skip-it - Brendan Fraser hasn't made a decent film in a decade but for some reason studios still think kids like him.
Pink Panther 2 - Skip-it - You probably didn't see the first one, but if you did, and you actually want to see this sequel, then be my guest!
Bob Funk - Skip-it - The whole movie can be summed up by one sentence: An awful rude drunk named Bob eventually becomes a upstanding role model thanks to a pretty girl.
Legend of the Bog - Skip-it - A horror drama about a body that's been rotting in a bog for 2,000 years.
Movies re-released on Blu-ray format this week:
The Pianist - Rent-it - One of the most underrated Oscar-y films of all-time! See this true-life story about a musician during WWII.
Hoffa - Rent-it - Just to see Nicholson and DeVito as American mobsters in their prime.
Killing - Rent-it - Stanley Kubrick's crime noir classic about an ex-con planning to steal $2 million from a racetrack.
