You've got to hand it to Weezer. In a day and age where marketing is everything, the guys that brought us the sugary-sweet "Buddy Holly" and the so-infectious-it's-sickening "Undone (The Sweater Song)" have managed to up the dork-rock ante yet again, this time with the Weezer Snuggie.
That's right, the Weezer Snuggie. Don't believe me? Check out the infomercial below (I'll give you a minute)...
I know, you're thinking that can't possibly be real... Well, crack out that credit card, because it is! How do I know? Because I called the number to find out - and when I couldn't decide between royal blue, sage green and burgundy, I bought all three. Yes, my wife is going to kill me - even if each Snuggie includes a "free" copy of Weezer's new CD, Raditude. At least I didn't buy the zebra-print model for $50 (for what it's worth, the "safari" Snuggie includes the deluxe version of the CD, as well as a photo book).
In case you're interested, shipping is "around $10, depending where you live" and your Weezer Snuggie will arrive "within 7-10 business days," according to the operatorI talked to. I asked if I could also order an Adam Lambert BeDazzler and some Fergie Urine Gone, and he told me that he couldn't find them in his database... Yet, I presume.
Ratitude was released Tuesday. If you think you can live without the Snuggie, the album is currently available for $3.99 in MP3 form on Amazon.com, for a limited time only.
If money's no object and you laugh in the face of such a digital bargain, a mere $150 can show off your retro coolness - you get not only the safari print Snuggie package, but also a limited-edition red vinyl version of Ratitude. (Allow me to do the math for you - that means you're paying $100 for the red vinyl.)
Can't decide which package is right for you? Check them out in all their "ultra-soft fleece" and "over-sized sleeves" glory on weezer.com.

I ordered the Weezer Snuggie online at their website way early in November and I still haven't gotten it... LAME! 7-10 days my ass.
