It is the one-year anniversary of Table Mountain Animal Shelter’s move to its new building and getting a new name – Foothills Animal Shelter. Although the building looks finished from the outside when driving along 6th Avenue, there is still a lot of work to be done and the shelter could use some help.
According Megan Peters, Foothills Animal Foundation CEO, they still need to raise $700,000 for their Capital Campaign.
“Because the Foothills Animal Shelter is a quasi-governmental organization, Foothills Animal Foundation (the fundraising branch of Foothills Animal Shelter), was given the unique opportunity… [to] allow the County and municipalities to begin construction on the new shelter in its entirety,…and entering into a good faith agreement that the Foundation would raise $2,000,000 over five years to help fund the building construction.”
One of the ways they are raising money is through their Brick Campaign. Individuals, organizations and businesses can purchase bricks that will show their support for the new building. Just a few weeks ago, the first bricks began to arrive at the shelter. The bricks come in various sizes, with and without graphics. Individuals can purchase bricks to celebrate a pet they adopted from Foothills or to memorialize a pet that has passed. Businesses can put their company logo on a brick to let the community know that they support the work Foothills Animal Shelter does.
To order a brick, go to the Bricks Campaign page on their website and click on the Brick Campaign order form. Forms can be filled out online and emailed to the Foundation or print out the form, fill it out and mail it back to the shelter. Costs range from $125 for a 4x8 inch brick with three lines of text to $500 for an 8x8 inch brick with a mountain and paw print design. For businesses and organizations there are $1000 8x8 inch Corporate Logo Bricks. Replica keepsake bricks can be purchased as well. Visit their website for more details.
“There are many ways that individuals, families, corporations and foundations can help us reach our goal,” says Peters. Along with the bricks, there are naming opportunities for various areas of the shelter as well. To learn more, email Peters at mpeters@fas4pets.org or call the Foundation at 720-407-5226.
