Buttonwood Tree in Middletown Offers Exciting Programs

The Sinan Bakir Jazz Trio performed an exciting program of live music at the Buttonwood Tree Performing Arts Center on April 9 at 8 p.m. Sinan Bakir was on the guitar, Matt Dvonsvsky on bass and Cemre Dugan on drums. The groups performed to a full house. On Saturday, April 16  Mr. Issac Allen will perform at 8 p.m. He performs a combination of jazz and blues. On April 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. author Constant Waterman will read from the lastest books. This event is free.  Later the Poetry Potluck series will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. It is a discussion not an open mike event. On April 22 Karen Frisk, jazz vocalist will perform at 8 p.m.

A creative writing workshop will be help on April 23 from 1-3 with Ellen Albrizio a award winning journalist on NPR. Organzing for America will offer a workshop on re-electing Obama presented by Wesleyan students from 3:45 to 5:45. The Buttonwood Tree is seeking volunteers to help with weekend events. Volunteers are needed to set up and staff refreshment booth located in main lobby. The bookstore needs people to work during week and weekends.
