Butt cam replaces mirrors in fitting room
Butt cams will help buyers decide if their backsides are attractive in a particular outfit.
In the UK, one would ask 'does my bum look big in these?' in the U.S. it would be 'does my butt look big in these?' in France it would be 'let me look at my fantastic derriere.'
Retailer Jeans West installed butt cams to snap a photo of one's backside in the changing room.
Jeans west CEO Stephen Younane said this is a
"way to bring some fitting room fun to the experience of purchasing a pair of jeans"
Leading retail consultant Stephen Kulmar, novelties such as the butt cam have more to do with boosting sales, creating buzz and reducing floor clerks.
Mr Kulmar said.
"Men don't like going shopping so if you can get them into the changeroom this is where the sale is made. And for women in particular, if they think their behind looks good in something, they'll buy it."
Jeans West was the first to offer the service in Australia, technology has been lurking in fitting rooms internationally for several years.
