He had missed the last two games with bruised ribs that he suffered last Friday in a win over the Denver Nuggets.
He has missed 15 games so far this season with three different injuries and coach before the current ailment, Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau believed that Butler had began to find his rhythm offensively.
"He had a good extended stretch where he had played and was able to practice, so I think it allowed him to get back into a very good rhythm," Thibodeau said. "He was comfortable in a lot of different areas. Obviously, running the floor, moving without the ball, some pick-and-roll stuff, much more comfortable in the post. Hopefully he’ll be able to get back to that.’’
Butler's return also helps with depth on the wing in the second night of a back-to-back and Mike Dunleavy having logged all but nine seconds of Tuesday's win in Atlanta.
The Warriors come into the game on a four-game winning streak and the Bulls have won six of their last seven.
