Butler Releases 2012-13 Schedule

Indianapolis (IN) - Butler has never shied away from difficult schedules and they will certainly be tested in 2012-13.

On Thursday afternoon, Butler released their schedule for the coming year that includes 11 games against 2012 NCAA Tournament teams and also 5 games against NIT teams.

Butler will play multiple games on national television including the ESPN's family of networks as well as the CBS College Sports Network.

The slate begins on October 27th with an exhibition game against DePauw. They conclude the pre-season with an exhibition against the University of Indianapolis on November 3rd.

Butler then opens regular season play against Elon on November 10th.

The Bulldogs will participate in the ESPN Tip-Off Marathon with a November 13th game at Xavier (non-conference).

They are then off to Hawaii and the Maui Invitation where they square off against Marquette in the 1st Round, followed by two more games on the island.

Butler then returns home to take on Hanover, Ball State, and IUPUI at Hinkle Fieldhouse, before traveling meet Northwestern in Evanston.

The Indiana Hoosiers will greet the Bulldogs at the Crossroads Classic on December 15th.

Butler will then play Evansville at home, before making the five hour trip to Nashville to battle the Vanderbilt Commodores.

There are two more non-conference games against Pennsylvania and New Orleans at Hinkle Fieldhouse, before the Bulldogs being Atlantic 10 play.

The A-10 opener will be against St. Joseph's on January 9th followed by a trip to Dayton to take on the flyers on January 12th.

Butler returns home to meet Richmond in their A-10 home opener, before concluding their non-conference slate with an ESPN GameDay visit from Gonzaga on January 19th.

The Bulldogs will then strictly play conference games from then on.

Notable late conference games include home versus Temple on January 26th, at Saint Louis on January 31st, home against Saint Louis on February 22nd, at VCU on March 2nd, and home against Xavier on March 9th.

The A-10 tournament will be played at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on March 14-17.
