Busy dining scene in Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY -- Things are hopping on the local restaurant scene. Here's a quick rundown, courtesy of the Democrat & Chronicle:

• The Burger Shack Grill has opened at 54 West Main Street. Owner Chase Collins' menu includes specialty burgers, plates and finger foods. A bar with wine and beer is in the works. Hours:  11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Phone: (585) 924-2211.

• Half Moon Creative Salad has opened a second location at 202 High Point Drive. The shop, owned by Eileen McNamara Cavanaugh and Christopher West, specializes in chopped salads, wraps, soups and yogurts and breakfasts. Phone: (585) 425-4711. Hours there and at the original, 2900 Monroe Avenue in Brighton: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Ristorante Lucano has opened a companion specialty food and imports store with gift baskets, pastas, sauces, meats, cheeses, canned foods and desserts from the restaurant at 1803 East Avenue. Hours: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Phone: (585) 244-0844.
