With so many things on the minds of today’s business leaders, many may be surprised that finding “the right talent” to be an emerging critical issue. Northgate Arinso’s (NGA’s) “2013 Talent Management Survey” found that finding the right talent “for the right time” was on the minds of many leaders. Take a look at these additional findings.
- 87% of business people believe that talent identification will be critical to the success of their companies in the next three years,
- 88% reported believing that "securing the right people at the right place at the right time" is critical to delivering their organizations' vision
- 85% said organization success depends on "identifying and retaining top talents."
- 51% of those questioned identified a shortage of talent
- 67% said they believed their business's talent management strategy would benefit from more resources being dedicated to it.
- 34% said their company does not have a talent management program at all.
Are you engaged?
MSW Research & Dale Carnegie Training released the finds of a 2012 study that gives us some insight into engaging America’s human capital. What were the two major factors that influence engagement levels?
- Dissatisfaction with immediate supervisor
- Belief in senior leadership
Take a look at a few of the key findings:
- Less than 1/3 of employees are engaged
- 45% of managers and supervisors are engaged, only 23% of all other level workers are engaged.
- 26% of engaged employees would leave their current job for just a 5% pay increase.
- 46% of partially engaged employees would leave their current job for just a 5% pay increase.
- 69% of disengaged employees would leave their current job for just a 5% pay increase.
- 80% of employees who were very dissatisfied with their immediate supervisor were disengaged.
- 40% of employees that feel empowered by their supervisor are engaged.
- 66% of employees believe their manager does not care about their personal life.
- 61% of employees who have confidence in the leadership abilities and think that senior leaders are moving the organization in the right direction are fully engaged.
- 60% of employees who feel they have an effect on the direction of the company are engaged.
- There is an 80% chance of “disengagement” when employees are dissatisfied with immediate supervisor
- Engagement levels are highest within the first 5 years of employement
- Most engaged employees? - Executives (VP, CEO, Directors) and medical professionals
- Least engaged employees? - education, social work, & sales
- Employee engagement levels are twice as high among employees who say they are proud of the contributions their organization has made to the community.

This Buford, GA based company has seen a 75% increase in business within the last year. Their Virtual phone and live answering services for over 40,000 customers recently provided them with a leading industry title. This expansion is expected to bring 200 jobs.
