The news agencies are reporting needs to make changes, thus more are going online to use the electronic means. But Al Jazeera has been attempting to more into more markets based on the ability to present a different world view. Still using the advances modern technology offers, this news group is now buying Current TV, was at least partly owned by Al Gore. Reporting from the troubled spots of the world has brought out some controversies, but has also brought out information. And it is with open communications, we find people are seeking to do less violence as alternatives are offered. Al Jazeera is moving now but will it move well enough in these trouble times to make a difference.
News agencies keep saying they do not make enough to keep operations going, as any business there must be funds coming in or operations end. Reporting on the matters the public does not wish to hear, results in less of the public listening. And with predators such as the former News Corp taking illegal actions, it makes getting the truth heard even more serious. But gaining the public’s attention is the problem, when the same public is burnt out about the tragedies around the world. Enter Al Jazeera, reporting on the troubled conditions from many lands, it has had to fight to get presented to the world.
For the most part, Al Jazeera has only been of interest to regions where there is a multi-culture seen, even then not part of the mainstream. The attempts to move into more areas have been meet with resistance, much of it simple by refusals to accept opening communications with this news agency. But information is coming in, how it is used is in the care of those who receive it, reporting this information only allows brings to light its point of view. Those who are looking for the truth, need multiple sources to find it, even if some of them are questionable they present facts needed. Adapting to use the modern technology systems, the Middle East news agency has stayed going and moving into many areas once closed off to any outside news.
Now by buying Current TV, Al Jazeera is hoping to gain more notice in the U.S. Midwest region, this despite the lack of cable connections available. The reality is news agencies need to get directly involved in connecting to the general public to supply accurate information, without political agendas attached. Providing the truth to all those in need, offers them the ability to understand and defend themselves without the needs of violence. Already reporting from trouble spots, the need to gain attention to them has been noticed, as seen through Arab Spring there is just a need to get the global public aware of the events. But with each report controversies still hold to some of the reports to present a lack of creditability in some cases.
Trouble comes to many, but with tyrants seen across the Middle East this region has many troubles to report. And as seen with the uprising in Egypt, accurate information can help prevent more violence from coming out. Thus the need to have more open communications, lines of information available to the global public which can be trusted. But reporting news also means having connections which are not always free of biases or arrogance in nature. Alternatives to violence are needed, only established on the truth, such will hurt but needs to be examined.
The truth does not make anyone feel good, we all want to think of ourselves as always being right, yet if we are considered human we make mistakes. People seeking less violence need have access to those who can aid them, and reporting the truth allows a reputation to offer this aid. Just as any resource, the personal reputations of both individuals and collectives, allows others to know if they can trust each other. The only matter left is to get past the biases presented, and with Al Jazeera being mainly Islamic based there are major biases against it in the Midwest states. Still it is moving to open more markets and show the world what news it can report.
Al Jazeera’s moving into new markets present the concept of teaching the world what is being seen through Islamic eyes. ] Not only in the daily lives, but the thoughts of what future they can enjoy and hope for their children. The world needs to understand there are many different cultures to be seen, and the global public needs them all. It is not by one culture or one individual we exist but by the combination of all as a whole, and moving to new areas brings contacts to present such ideas.
