Bush family emails part duex

This column didn’t think conservatives had a sense of humor. So very, very wrong.

The hacking into the Bush family’s emails in addition to some friends’ and associates’ accounts has yielded all sorts of moral lessons.

There was schadenfreude. Very specific schadenfreude.

Perhaps a different faith perspective saw karma or poetic justice.

Folks worried about too much access also chimed in. Sorry, the right of privacy has been trampled by the Patriot Act and other hysterical governmental policies.

No one is above, or in this case, below the law.

Back to the hacked emails.

We the people could observe that George W was just as petty and mean in private as he was during his stolen Presidency.

But here is the hilarious part. The Washington Free Beacon had the following headline: Greatest Living President is Also Fantastic Painter.

Even MoDo is a fan of the pictures but not the Presidency.

Now this column has to quote directly from the, for lack of a better word, Free Beacon commentary.

“The paintings demonstrate a command of line and color that is rarely seen in the modern-day “art” world. Former President George W. Bush appears to be influenced by such painters as Edgar Degas and Edouard Manet. The portraits also clearly capture the personality of their subject.”

This was written by the Free Beacon Staff, so there is no one identifiable culprit. For some reason other art is referenced with quotations marks, as if implying contemporary creative work is not art.

And let’s not forget that Bush’s name is used in the same sentence with Manet and Degas. Without sarcasm or quotation marks.

That’s like saying his nasty little emails evoke Shakespeare.

The final part to this non critical critique is the thought that the self-portraits capture the former President’s personality.

Okay. So that would be war criminal, liar, the guy on watch during the 9/11 attacks and Chief Executive when the economy crashed.
