According to a Feb. 8 New York Daily News report, personal photos, emails and home addresses of the Bush family, including those of both former presidents have been disseminated on the web after a hacker reportedly breached multiple family members’ email accounts.
Several photos and emails were uploaded to an online account by a hacker, claiming to have swiped “a lot of stuff,” including “interesting emails” stemming from former President George H.W. Bush's recent hospitalization, according to the Smoking Gun.
The personal emails exchanged during Bush's hospital stay reportedly include some discussing potential funeral arrangements and eulogy ideas. One of the photos shows the 88-year-old former president talking with a doctor from his hospital bed. Another hacked email revealed a private message from President Obama to the ill former president during his hospital stay.
A spokesman for former the elder Bush told the Houston Chronicle that authorities are investigating. “We do not comment on matters under criminal investigation,” said spokesman Jim McGrath.
The hacked photos making headlines are those of former President George W. Bush’s new hobby: images of paintings by the former president. One of the paintings is a self-portrait of the former president in the shower. Another self-portrait looks down at his bare legs in a bathtub.
The hacked emails reveal that the elder Bush’s health was even more perilous than previously believed during his December hospital stay. The Smoking Gun quoted George W. Bush soliciting eulogy ideas for his father from his siblings in one email.
