Busch Gardens recently held its annual Pass Member Appreciation Weekend. Pass members were treated to lots of details about upcoming holiday events as well as a brand new show for the 2014 season.
In 2014, Busch Gardens will debut the all-new London Rocks live show. London Rocks will take guests on a musical journey that explores the roots of rock-n-roll in a 25-minute live action and multi-media rock extravaganza. The musical revue will explore the role that music plays in people’s lives.
Per the press release (as the Theme Park Examiner was unable to attend the pass member event), a team of more than 200 musical directors, designers, technicians and artists is taking on this ambitious production, which will take place in the park’s Globe Theatre.
London Rocks has been four years in the making and marks the long-awaited return of live entertainment to the Globe Theatre,” said Busch Gardens’ Vice President of Entertainment Scott Gasparich. "With London Rocks, we’ve assembled an international team who will take guests on a psychedelic journey through British music."
In addition to the all-new London Rocks musical revue, the entire English village is getting a makeover, which will complement the new show and bring a bit of the British Invasion to Colonial Williamsburg. The Globe Theatre is being redesigned to take advantage of the latest technology in lighting, audio and stage design, including the use of projection mapping, sonic soundscapes and a raked stage similar to performance stages used in European opera houses. Outside, the village will be decked out with new life and energy that embraces the roots of rock-n-roll and sends out feelings of love, hope and freedom.
Guests will feel the thrills and excitement of being rock stars in the heyday of rock-n-roll London as they walk through Busch Gardens’ English village,” Gasparich said.
London Rocks will debut in the spring of 2014 and is just one of the many reasons to visit Busch Gardens. Other reasons to come back to Busch in 2014 include the return of Busch Gardens’ Food & Wine Festival and the parks’ popular concert series.
