Busch brings Monster Energy, No. 54 to JGR Nationwide stable

Joe Gibbs Racing driver Kyle Busch, who also owns Kyle Busch Motorsports in the Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series, is bringing the No. 54 Toyota and sponsorship from Monster Energy to the JGR Nationwide Series stable for 2013. Busch will still operate the KBM Nationwide Series team, with Parker Kligerman behind the wheel of the No. 77 Toyota Camry for the full season.

Busch recently signed a long-term contract with JGR, and looks forward to staying with the team. “I’m passionate about winning and that was a big factor in deciding to re-sign with Joe Gibbs Racing,” said Busch on the JGR website. “I think JGR gives me the best opportunity to win a championship in the Cup Series for M&M’s and Interstate Batteries. I know that everyone on our team is committed to that goal and will push towards making that a reality in 2013. I’m also looking forward to the opportunity to work with Adam Stevens in the Nationwide Series and put Monster Energy in Victory Lane where they belong.”

“This is a big deal for us,” said JGR President J.D. Gibbs. “It’s no secret that you have to have great drivers to win in NASCAR and in the past year we’ve been able to secure long-term deals with Kyle and Denny and of course we were able to add Matt as well. Kyle is a big part of our success at JGR and we’re thrilled to know he will be with us for a long time.”

The No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota with crew chief Adam Stevens will run the full Nationwide Series schedule for JGR, with Busch scheduled to drive the majority of the races in 2013; other drivers for the No. 54 will be announced soon.
