Burt Reynolds, 76, is being treated at a Florida hospital in the intensive care unit after suffering from a nasty case of the flu that is sweeping the country, according to a report by TMZ on Jan. 25. Burt's representative stated that he caught the nasty flu bug that has been making its rounds recently in both the United States and the world.
Burt had been trying to cure himself of the flu and cope with the symptoms at home for the past few days. Unfortunately, the symptoms got much worse and he was admitted to the hospital. The rep said that Reynolds was moved to the intensive care unit of the hospital earlier today after his physicians concluded that he was "severely dehydrated."
The good news is that the medical officials have stated that Burt will make a full recovery.
Reynolds was hugely popular in the 1980's in movies such as 'Smoke and the Bandit' and 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.' In the 1990's, he starred in the television series 'Evening Shade.' Burt has also starred in the movies 'Deliverance,' 'Boogie Nights,' 'Striptease,' and 'The Dukes of Hazzard.'
