Burnell Taylor gave a rousing performance on "American Idol" Wednesday night.

Performing a rendition of "I'm Here," Taylor received a standing ovation from Keith Urban and strong reviews from the rest of the judging panel.

"First of all when you say I'm thankful, I believe you. I feel it. Your voice is instantly recognizable. You don't sound like anyone else," said Urban. "You've got your own thing. I loved it. Thank you for doing that."

Nicki Minaj agreed, claiming that she loved the performance.

"I love you. I think it's pretty obvious that you are one of a kind and I'm glad that we found you and brought you here. That struggle and that pain in your voice is undeniable," said Minaj. "I hope people vote for you Burnell. I really love you."

Noting the urgency and uniqueness of his voice, Randy Jackson said "I'm happy you returned home to when we first saw you. That was great man."

Closing out the panel, Mariah Carey looked back to his initial performance of "I'm Here" and said that she was so proud to see him in that element again.

"Hey Burnell. So you did it again. It was a tearful moment. The day you auditioned with that song, there was a tangible emotion. I'm so proud of you and so happy. I have so much love for you," said Carey.

All of that said, do you think Burnell Taylor should move forward in the competition?

"American Idol" returns, with results from the first vote of the season, Thursday night on FOX.
