Burn 2 – Man Burn and Temple Burn events
This weekend is the last two days of Burn 2, Burning Man in Second Life. There’s lots to see and do there, including dancing and live music, but two events you definitely don’t want to miss are when The Man burns and the Temple burns. Both are iconic events of the festival, and will be accompanied by the unforgettable drumming and dancing of the Lamplighters (full disclosure: this writer is a Lamplighter).
The first Man burn was this morning; there are two more scheduled for this evening (Oct 23) at 8pm and tomorrow morning at 4am (both times are PT and SLT). There will be three Temple Burns: Sunday Oct 24 at noon and at 8pm, and Monday Oct 25 at 4am (PT and SLT).
This picture is from this morning’s Man Burn. After the burn, while Lamplighters drum and dance, other avatars strive to keep the fire going in the embers of The Man by carrying debris into the dying flames. Don’t miss it! Unfortunately I 'm not very successful with this recently reconfigured web page. I've clicked "Like" on two of the articles but for some reason (a) have to log onto Facebook, (b) can't get into Facebook even though I'm using my correct log in stuff.
