When most people think of San Antonio, they think of the Alamo and rich Texas history. In addition to the Alamo, San Antonio is famous for its gorgeous River Walk, filled with bars and restaurants. And if things go according to Rebecca Pattinson's plan, there will soon be a new burlesque attraction: The Blackstone Lounge.
The Blackstone Lounge will be the first of its kind in Texas, an upscale burlesque lounge that features modern burlesque dancers, live orchestras and jazz music, comdedians and more.
However, anytime the words burlesque or striptease are uttered, people begin to get a little flustered. The Paseo del Rio Association already issued a statement:
“We are closely monitoring this development and will convey our opposition to city officials when and if, The Blackstone applies for necessary permitting.”
Pattinson, of the Blackstone Lounge assures concerned citizens that the club will be discreet and upscale:
"There will be no runway. There will be no pole and there will definitely be no tipping,"
She goes on to clarify:
"No lap dances. No private dances. There will be no taking a dancer off to a private corner and slipping her a $20."
