According to Adam Schefter of ESPN on Monday, the Cleveland Browns have signed Calgary native wide receiver Nate Burleson to a one year contract. The financial terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.

Burleson caught 39 passes for 461 yards and a touchdown for the Detroit Lions last season.

In 11 National Football League seasons (three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and four seasons with the Detroit Lions), Burleson has 457 career receptions for 5630 yards and 39 touchdown catches.

Burleson's best season was in Minnesota in 2004 when he had 1,0006 receiving yards and nine touchdown catches.

Burleson will be joining a Browns franchise that finished in the AFC North basement at 4-12 in 2013 and scored a division worst 308 points. He will be complimenting Josh Gordon, who is becoming one of the rising stars in the National Football League at the wide receiver position.

The Browns are expected to draft a quarterback with their fourth overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft in May. So don't be surprised if Burleson and whoever the Browns choose next month will work significantly over the summer to get on the same page.
