Burbank celebrates St. Patrick's Day 2010

Green beer and martinis may be cheesy, but they're just too fun to pass up!

Where are you going to go this year to get some of your Irish favorites like corned beef and cabbage, Guinness, and Irish "boilermakers?" Here are just a few suggestions that will keep you local and still have all the festive spirit of the holiday:

Start your night off with a traditional Irish meal at The Tallyrand: corned beef and cabbage ($12.50). Get there early though as they are known for their St. Patty’s Day dinner and there can be longs waits.

Timmy Nolan’s is busy on any regular night, so on St. Patrick’s Day you’d better prepare yourself for a tight squeeze and table space will be at a premium. This will absolutely be one of the busier bars, but it’s also guaranteed to be rowdy and fun (the party starts at 8 AM). Don’t miss the Irish bagpipers and the limited menu of corned beef and cabbage and Irish stew to sober you up at the end of the night. (Voted Best Irish Bar 2008 by Citysearch- so you know it’s legit.)

While not Irish at all, Barney’s Beanery celebrates all holidays equally and being one of the hipper sports bars in Burbank, will also be packed. Get your green beer here, as well as Irish stew and corned beef and cabbage. And if Irish cuisine and brews aren’t your thing, they have a huge menu and tons of beers to choose from, so they’ll be no lack of options for celebrating here.

250 N. First St.

Taking advantage of its prime location on San Fernando Blvd., Burbank Bar & Grille will also be celebrating St. Patty’s Day with a live band “The Other White Meat”, no cover and $5 Irish “car bombs,” $5 shots of Jameson, and $2.75 for green Coors light- you have to have a least one green beer!

112 N. San Fernando Blvd.

Burbank, CA 91502

The Snug is Burbank’s take on an Irish pub; a cozy casual space that will fit the bill for St. Patty’s day since they serve Guinness and cider and they have some trace of Irish heritage.
