The Bunker Hill Train Club will be hosting their semiannual model train show on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Ranson Civic Center in Ranson, West Virginia. There will be model train displays from the Shenandoah and Potomac Valley Garden Railway Club, the Western Maryland Railway Historical Society Modular Group, Mad Modules on 30, the 0 Dark 30 Modular Group, the NVNTRAK T-Track Division, plus model trains for kids to operate. They will be having a raffle for multiple prizes at 1:00pm. They will be presenting a slide show with all types of railroading including B & O steam trains from the 1950’s. If that is not enough, they will be numerous vendors selling supplies for your home model trains to include scenery, buildings, and train cars. You can also buy shirts, hats, books, and other types of railroad memorabilia.
The Ranson Civic Center is located at 431 W. 2nd Avenue in Ranson, West Virginia, an hour drive from D.C. It is just blocks from the center of Charles Town and about a five minute drive from the Hollywood Casino. The hours are from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and admission is only $4.00 with children under twelve free. It is a small detour where, unlike the casino, you will definitely get something back for what you pay in.
