Bungie’s ‘Destiny’ coming sooner than expected

As reported this morning, it seemed as though Bungie was going to reveal their new game, “Destiny” this coming Monday, Feb. 18, 2013. Today, Bungie cleared up the matter, confirming that “Destiny” will be unveiled one day earlier than everyone thought, on this Sunday, February 17.

An official Facebook page for “Destiny” went live today, and the first post was that announcement. Bungie also activated a Twitter account for the game, and revealed the official logo. (See the logo at the top of this page) The Facebook page and Twitter account will both be showing the reveal on Sunday.

Welcome to the official Destiny Facebook page. Official Destiny news is coming soon! You can be the first to see the reveal of Destiny right here on Feb. 17 (T-Minus 5 days).

“Destiny” is the first game that Bungie has made since breaking off from Microsoft and announcing their partnership with Activision. “Destiny” is in no way connected to the incredibly popular “Halo” franchise, which Bungie created. Will their new game, which is expected to be part of a larger series, be anywhere near as popular as their previous? Only time will tell if lightning can indeed strike twice.
