Hailing from Lincoln Park Academy in St. Lucie County (the original name and location of the once segregated all black Negro school) Robert Bacchus Jr., was recently named a 2014 Gates Millennium Scholar among 1,000 students chosen from a pool of 52,000, making this year’s decision one of the most competitive in the programs history. Robert is Valedictorian of his high school class, and expects to graduate with both his AA degree from Indian River State College and IB Diploma from Lincoln Park. He is a multidimensional student with interests in music, service, and science.

Terrance McQueen, also a student in the St. Lucie County School District, reigns from Fort Pierce Central High School in Fort Pierce, Florida where he is honored and respected as one deserving of this opportunity and challenge to achieve and lead in this hour. St. Lucie County, the Treasure Coast et al, is very proud of their native sons of education, both Terrance and Robert.

Looking further south we see that blue chip treasures of the Treasure Coast extend to Palm Beach County where a host of recipients of the Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program shout out victory with much success for continued happiness to parents and communities as Palm Beach County School District waves its mighty flag of success with the following grand achievers:

Banfield, Joelishia - Glades Central High School, Belle Glade

Canelo, Ricardo - John I. Leonard High School, Greenacres

Cornely, Ronald - Suncoast Community High School, Riviera Beach

Ingram, Daron - Glades Central High School, Belle Glade

Jean, Grace - Suncoast Community High School, Riviera Beach

Nascimento, Daniel - Boca Raton Community High School, Boca Raton

Nelson, Jessica - Deerfield Beach High School, Deerfield Beach

God Bless the United States of America, and please remember the great Sunshine State of Florida.
