With a great opportunity to even their 2014 NBA playoffs series at two wins apiece, the Chicago Bulls invade the Verizon Center in the nation’s capital to take on the Washington Wizards. According to an April 26 AP Sports report, Game 4 has a scheduled TV start time of 1:10 p.m. EST (12:10 p.m. CST/11:10 a.m. MST/10:10 a.m. PST) on ABC and will be streaming live on ABC’s Live Stream page (verification required).
On Friday night, the Bulls were finally able to get on the board, taking Game 3 of this best-of-seven series with a 100-97 victory. Chicago small forward Mike Dunleavy certainly picked the right time to have the game of his life.
Going 8-for-10 from behind the arc, the former Duke star finished with a game-high 35 points, connecting on 12 of his 19 field-goal attempts in 39 minutes and 32 seconds of play. Staring at an 0-3 hole on the road, Dunleavy also got plenty of help despite the fact that Joakim Noah couldn’t find his rhythm offensively.
Bulls guard Jim Butler finished with 15 points and 5 rebounds, Carlos Boozer pitched with 14 and 5, while Taj Gibson and D.J. Augustin came off the bench to score 13 apiece. With momentum on his team’s side, how will Tom Thibodeau exploit the fact that Washington will be without one of its best players this afternoon?
According to an April 27 ESPN report, Wizards power forward, Nene, will be forced to sit out Game 4 for the Wizards after head-butting Chicago’s Butler. With just over eight minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the Brazilian and the former first-round pick had a heated exchange.
Not only was Nene ejected, but upon further review, the league also decided to also suspend him for Sunday’s matinee. Still down a game on the road, how will Chitown respond to Nene’s suspension?
“We’ve got to be ready for everyone,” Thibodeau said. “That’s the way we’re looking at it. We’re not speculating on what might be, that's not our concern. Just get ourselves ready; don’t get lost in what could happen, what might happen.”
Will the Bulls suffer a letdown with Nene out, and take their foot off the gas pedal versus the Wizards? Tune to ABC’s national TV broadcast at the aforementioned start time of 1 p.m. EST.
