Bulls sign Martin to second 10-day contract

The Bulls announced that they have re-signed forward Cartier Martin to a second 10-day contract.

RealGM, first reported the transaction as Martin's initial 10-day had expired on Sunday.

In three games with the Bulls, Martin has averaged 5 points, 1 rebound in 13.7 minutes. He's shot 62.5 percent from the floor and 60 percent from 3-pt. range.

Once the trade of Marquis Teague to the Brooklyn Nets is completed on Tuesday, when league offices open again, the Bulls could sign Martin for the remainder of the season.

"We're hopeful that that will be the case," coach Tom Thibodeau told reporters after Monday morning's shootaround at the United Center. "He's very professional. He brings a lot every day just to practice and preparation. And he's always ready. You always feel comfortable if you have an injury or foul trouble and you throw him out there that he's going to go out there and do his job."
