The Bulls officially announced the signing of point guard D.J. Augustin.
The six-year point guard cleared waivers on Wednesday after being released by the Toronto Raptors on Monday to make way for the players acquired in a trade that sent Rudy Gay to Sacramento.
Augustin will wear No. 14 and be in uniform tonight for the Bulls (8-12) when they take on the Milwaukee Bucks.
He appeared in just 10 games for Toronto this season. His offensive struggles where a prime reason Dwight Buyucks and Julyan Stone were placed ahead of him in Toronto, before the trade with Sacramento made Greivis Vasquez a Raptor.
Augustine shot just 29 percent from the field and made just one of his 11 three-pointers taken this season. He will get an opportunity to spell Kirk Hinrich, who’s playing just under 40 minutes a night so far in the month of December.
He owns career averages of 9.4 points, 3.9 assists and a .368 mark from three-point range.
