The Bulls are expected to sign seven-year forward Lou Amundson to a 10-day contract on Saturday, bringing their roster to the maximum 15.
He appeared in 20 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves and averaged 1.6 points and 2.4 rebounds. He was waived on Feb. 8 and would be injury insurance while Taj Gibson recovers from a sprained MCL in his left knee.
The Bulls are below the hard salary cap to sign the forward for the rest of the season if they wanted to.
According to the Tribune, the Bulls beat out the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics and New York Knicks for Amundson’s services.
Over seven seasons with six teams, Amundson has career averages of 3.8 points and 3.6 rebounds.
