Professional hockey returns to San Francisco in October.
The San Francisco Bulls of the ECHL announced on Wednesday that the expansion team's first ever exhibition game will be on Oct. 3 at the legendary Cow Palace. The opponent will be the Stockton Thunder.
The contest will mark the first professional hockey game in the City by the Bay since the San Francisco Spiders of the IHL last played at the Cow Palace in 1996. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7 p.m. It will be the Bulls' only home exhibition game.
Tickets for the exhibition will be available for purchase starting on Sep. 17 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.com, by calling (855) SF-BULLS (855-732-8557) or by visiting a Ticketmaster retail outlet.
The Bulls' 72-game regular season schedule is expected to be announced in June.
Stockton finished this season with a 34-33-1-4 record (73 points) and qualified for the playoffs. The Thunder swept the Colorado Eagles in the first round before losing to the Alaska Aces in the Western Conference semifinals.
