A bullied boy dies nearly two months after being punched in the face at school. News of the bullied boy's death hit the internet on March 4, sending waves of sadness through the bodies of all who read the devastating story. According to NBC 10 Philadelphia, counselors have been working at Darby Township School trying to console students who are upset following this tragedy.
"Southeast Delco School District Superintendent Stephen D. Butz says the school sends its condolences to the boy's friends and family. He said additional counselors are being made available for both students and staff," NBC 10 reported.
The bullied boy, Bailey O'Neill, died on Sunday after his parents elected to take him off life support. As previously reported, things got out of hand on Jan. 10 when two boys bullied Bailey in the schoolyard and things turned physical. Bailey was punched in the face causing a broken nose and a concussion. He began having violent seizures and doctors put him into a medically induced coma. He remained that way until Sunday.
Students and faculty at Darby Township School are having a hard time with what happened to Bailey O'Neill. The country has been mourning the loss of this young boy and thousands are calling for action to be taken against the two boys that ultimately caused his untimely death. So far, the boys have only received a 2-day suspension.
When a bullied boy dies, people begin talking about bullying and how things in the world are so out of control. When will bullying stop? Why do kids think it is okay? How many lives will have to be taken from earth for everyone to learn that people can come together for more than just war and Christmas dinner?
