An 11-year-old boy is in a coma following allegations of bullying at Darby Township School in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, according to a Feb.7, 2013 news release on ABC 7.
Bailey O'Neill, 11, was attacked by a couple of boys about four weeks ago, leaving him with a fractured nose after he was hit in the face several times, according to reports. The parents claim that while he was being bullied, one of the boys knocked down their son causing a concussion.
The boy was checked out at the hospital, however, his parents feel the boy wasn’t himself following the assault.
Bailey’s father, Rob O’Neill told cameras that after the fight, his son was moody and that the young boy couldn’t eat or sleep.
The boy began having seizures nearly two weeks ago and doctors eventually placed Bailey in a medical-induced coma.
According to inquisitr.com, the Southeast Delco School District school superintendent Stephen Butz made this statement, regarding the suspension of one of the students:
“We have requested that the local police assist us in the investigation of this incident and are fully cooperating with their investigation of this incident. We are very concerned about the medical condition of this student. And our thoughts and prayers are with him. Due to the age of the students involved and the ongoing police investigation, I am unable to make any additional comments.”
According to ABC, the boy who attacked Bailey has not been criminally charged.
