Bullied 11-year-old in coma after attack. According to a report posted today at Inquisitr, a 6th grade student suffered a concussion and is now in a coma as a result of being beaten by a classmate.
Reports say Bailey O’Neill, from Darby Township, Pennsylvania, was being bullied by two boys when one of the boys beat him in the face until his nose was fractured. Bailey was taken to Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children to be treated. Once there, his condition continued to decline, and his parents noticed he displayed unusual behavior and was not interested in eating.
Eventually the bullied 11-year-old started having "violent seizures," and his doctors chose to put him into a medically induced coma.
One of the boys involved in the bullied 11-year-old incident was suspended for two days. The Southeast Delco School District superintendent, Stephen Butz, issued a statement concerning the boy who physically assaulted Bailey:
“We have requested that the local police assist us in the investigation of this incident and are fully cooperating with their investigation of this incident. We are very concerned about the medical condition of this student. And our thoughts and prayers are with him. Due to the age of the students involved and the ongoing police investigation, I am unable to make any additional comments.”
Rob O’Neill Bailey's father urges other parents to be cautious and "keep an eye out" for warning signs since some children may not openly discuss bullying.
What are your thoughts on Bailey O'Neill, the bullied 11-year-old in a coma after an attack? Do you think a two day suspension is to light a punishment, from the school district, for the boy who beat Bailey up? What about the other boy who was reportedly involved?
