Former University of Georgia golfer Bubba Watson became the first UGA Bulldog to claim a major when he bested Louis Oosthuizen to win the Masters at Augusta National Golf Club.

Amidst controversy surrounding membership at the ANGC, Watson earned his first major championship title, and became the first UGA Bulldog to claim a major on the PGA Tour. Oosthuizen had the fourth double-eagle in Masters history during the final round of the tournament, but Watson managed to outshine even that accomplishment, hitting from the pine straw on the 10th hole of the playoff.

"The first time I ever worked with my caddie, (Ted Scott), six years ago, I told him, I said, 'If I have a swing, I've got a shot,' " Watson said on www.georgiadogs.com. "So I'm used to the woods. I'm used to the rough."

That shot put Watson about 12 feet from the cup, and poised to take the win.

"Where I stood when the ball came out, it looked like a curveball going to the right," Oosthuizen said. "So I knew he had to hit a big hook. An unbelievable shot. ... That shot he hit definitely won him the tournament."

Congratulations, Bulldog Bubba Watson—you look great in green!
