Bull City Burger & Brewery
107 East Parrish St, Suite 105
Durham, NC 27701
Downtown Durham is home to quite a few restaurants and breweries, but never both in the same place - until now. Bull City Burger and Brewery, located near the intersection of Parrish and Mangum Streets, is the downtown area's first establishment with an onsite brewery that also serves a full food menu (Fullsteam's food trucks notwithstanding).
Bull City subscribes to the same sustainable "farm-to-fork" philosophy that purveys the Durham scene, using the highest-quality NC beef, buns made from scratch, and local vegetables in their dishes. Even Bull City's sodas aren't of the garden variety Pepsi or Coke ilk - their fountains serve "old-fashioned" sodas sweetened with pure cane sugar from Boylan Bottling Company. This attention to detail and commitment to local, sustainable resources really pays off in the quality of the food served here.
Then there's the beer. From Bull City's indoor seating, consisting of long, wooden picnic tables, one can see the inner workings of the brewery. Most times, a brewmaster will be busily working amongst the tanks and kettles, triple-checking every element of the perfect brew. For now, Bull City is serving up two signature suds, with more to come down the road. The current selections are Parrish Street Pale Ale and Bryant Bridge Gateway Golden Ale.
Beer isn't the only libation at Bull City, though: they employ a unique wine-dispensing machine called the Enomatic. The Enomatic features 16 estate-grown, farmer-made wines available by half- or full-glass, as well as by the bottle. In addition, Bull City serves up a full liquor menu, featuring cocktails made with fresh-squeezed juices.
If you're looking for a high-quality burger and beer joint that gives back, Bull City Burger might just be the place for you.
