In a developing story, first reported on by NBC affiliate KARE11, a building in downtown Minneapolis exploded this morning, setting off a three-alarm fire and causing multiple injuries.

Media outlets are reporting that dispatchers said the address of the building is 516 Cedar Avenue South in downtown.

The explosion set plumes of smoke rising into the icy air, obscuring the view of the skyline. At least a dozen people have been taken to hospitals. Thus far no deaths have been reported.

Investigators on the scene are reporting that all those who were in the building at the time of the explosion have been accounted for.

“Robert Ball of Hennepin County EMS tells KARE 11 that as many as a dozen people have been injured and rushed to a number of local hospitals. He describes the injuries as ranging from burns to trauma suffered while falling or jumping from windows,” reports KARE11.

Unconfirmed reports say the second and third floors of the structure have collapsed.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune is reporting that a subsequent fire caused by the explosion has engulfed the nearby West Bank Grocery and Pharmacy.
