Building contractors offer higher wages to skilled workers

The construction industry is gradually picking up. And this is good news for dedicated construction workers. Building contractors in Florida offering higher wages and more benefits to those with specific skills.

The Associated General Contractors of America reported on January 22 that 42 percent of Florida contractors are paying a higher base a higher base wage to workers with specialized training in areas such as welding. It found that 36 percent are paying higher incomes to professionals, according to the organization's survey of 800 industry members, in an article by Marcia Heroux Pounds in the January 22 Sun Sentinel.

"I am glad to see higher wages for construction workers. I hope to see an increase in my salary. We have had some very tough years and how things are starting to pick up," said Joseph Brandt.
