Building a new world, how to make a change

What would happen if we all did something so different for change in our worlds and voted?  We could build a new world.  What if everyone cared all at once, is that what it would take to accomplish such a goal?

When everyone comes together and stops fighting and lobbying for their special "interests," massive healling would take place, a raising up consciousness from the old ways of thinking.  Because let's face it, the way the election is being run it will take a human being to run themself a different way than we are accustomed to seeing in the news and the debates.

What if Gandhi and Martin Luther King ran for office?  Would they motivate us to vote?  President Lincoln or Theodore Roosevelt?  Who would be the one person that could get us to put our differences aside?  Would Jesus or Buddha be abe to accomplish such a feat, unity in the American public?

For some of you, some of your "differences" of opinion probably came up inside you and you found reasons why you don't even like the above mentioned in office.

More than anything, you have to have a dream, to make a dream come true.  Is the what Presidential "hopefuls" really think about?  Do they come to office seeking unity and to make a change that matters for everyone, then the lobbyists and big business come into play.  You scratch my back, and you must or I won't scratch yours.  Does the harsh criticism of debates and the media get in the way of what matters?

Is there one person, political, doing this already, and the rest is just plain hogwash that distracts us and not them?  Take for instance the story of conservationist, John Muir and President Theodore Roosevelt.  While President Roosevelt was reading Mr.Muir's letters, he wrote daily, and then to meet with him, for days they camped out, in the forests of America to discuss the importance land conservation.

Did the American public know, did the media go mad with writing speculation, stiring the public and the special interests into a frenzy?  And it all happened any way, for the better with the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Act.

Isn't that what President Obama is accomplishing?  I'm not here to take sides, but everyone else is so busy push, push, pushing their own agenda and their own "man of the hour," I think most of the time we do not see the forest for the trees.

Dreaming a new world and coming together, even Jesus could not accomplish that one.  Oh, hindsight is always 20/20 and folks looking back get all upset now and say we know better now, that such a thing as hanging a man on the cross for his beliefs, we would not even let that happen today.  It should not have happened then, wasn't that a simpler time to live in?

But we are not here to place the blame, take that equation completely out of the picture.  We are here to correct what has been done and to learn from our forefathers misdeeds.  Not to keep repeating the same errors, but to be the link in the chain and put our foot down and say the "buck stops here."  I'm going to be that change, takes a special kind of man or woman.  To stand up for what they feel to be right, agaisnst all the rest of them the think otherwise.

Theodore Roosevelt was an avid hunter and fisherman, who'd of thought he would be the one to make the land conservation act.  To look at him, he seemd the eptiome of big business.  But one man named Johm Muir changed the President's mind.  John Muir was not standing in throngs of people who also believed the way he did. John Muir wasn't out seeking to gather in unison public opinion.

Just do.  Maybe it's not about getting popular opinion and coming together.  It's sticking your neck out any way damn it.

When is the last time you cared that much about anything to write a letter every day to the President? or to anyone for that matter?
