'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' star Robin Sachs dies (Video)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer” actor Robin Sachs died yesterday at age 61, according to a Feb. 6 TV Guide report. Sachs played Ethan Rayne, a recurrent character on the show from 1997 - 2000.

Ethan was the former friend turned nemesis of Buffy’s watcher, Giles. Ethan was even responsible for turning Giles into a demon at one point.

Sachs was born in London and first appeared in the British film “Vampire Circus” in 1972. Robin played Adam Carrington in “Dynasty: The Reunion,” replacing the original star, Gordon Thompson, when he became unavailable. Sachs worked steadily in TV, primarily sci-fi series, including “NCIS,” “Babylon 5,” “Star Trek: Voyager” and “Torchwood: Miracle Day.” Robin also appeared in the cult film “Galaxy Quest.”

The announcement of Robin Sachs’ death came from his website. The cause of death is unknown. The statement asked fans to raise a glass to Robin, whose laughter and cookies will be greatly missed.
