Buffer users can officially rejoice. After Twitter and Facebook, LinkedIn becomes the third social network supported by the third-party platform. Co-founder Leo Widrich announced the news on Thursday via the Buffer blog.
"Our goal with Buffer is to help you be awesome on Social Media and being able to conveniently Buffer LinkedIn updates, was a vital step for us on the way," says Widrich.
To connect your LinkedIn account to Buffer, log in to your dashboard. Click the “+add” sign, which will bring the 'Connect a Profile' pop-up window. Click 'Connect LinkedIn'. You can then start scheduling updates in the same way as you would for Twitter and Facebook.
According to the email sent by co-founder Joel Gascoigne to users of the app, the new feature allows you to:
- Post to LinkedIn via the browser extension (Chrome, Firefox, Safari...), mobile apps (Android and email) or Buffer buttons
- Get full thumbnail and preview of your postings on LinkedIn
- Post conveniently to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn at the same time
Buffer, also known as BufferApp, was launched in January 2011. The app began as a service allowing Twitter users to leverage their efforts on the social network by scheduling tweets to be sent at optimal times throughout the day. For more information, visit http://bufferapp.com.
