The 2014 Buffalo Irish Festival will be held at Canalside Friday through Sunday, August 22nd through 24th. As always, the festival features music, dancing, food and beverages, theater, shopping and much more.
This year’s festival will include three stages of continuous Irish entertainment from artists like Seamus Kennedy, Pat Shea, the Glengarry Bhoys, Blarney Bunch and Moxie; also performing will be Rochez Dancers, the Rince na Tiarna Dancers and the Clann na Cara Dancers. In addition, Mary Kate O’Connell will host singalong sessions Friday and Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Opening Day Friday features the annual Parade of the 32 County Flags of Ireland at 5:30 p.m. There will also be a Catholic mass on Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. at the Buffalo Irish Famine Memorial located at the Erie Basin Marina on the Waterfront.
Other happenings and events at the festival include traditional dance demonstrations, nearly two dozen vendors of Irish goods and crafts, and traditional food and beverage.
Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for kids and seniors; $8 advanced tickets are available at Wegmans, Tara Gift Shoppe, Shannon Pub and the Buffalo Brew Pub.
