Ascending the ranks in my own media and music world, I finally stop dead in my tracks and my jaw drops. My eyes widen and my heart throbs. Flutters, actually. My itinerary is confirmed for the 2013 NAMM show in Anaheim California.

The NAMM show is for trade members only, and not open to the public. You need to have an assigned badge to get in. I'm trembling. I'm lit like a Christmas tree.

The bands I love, the gear I love, these are my peeps taken up many notches. This is big time. Approximately one hundred thousand people walk the floors of the Anaheim Convention Center from January 24-27, I'm breathless that one of them will be me. Hot Jam with Suzanne show take note, the Hot Jam Media studios in Orchard Park will be getting some insight!
To be as prepared as possible to bring it to you, via article, photos, video and broadcast, besides all my memory cards, packs and backup batteries, I've purchased the latest gizmo from Tascam: the DRV1HD audio/video recorder with a 180 degree swivel camera/mic. It shipped today and I'm so excited and wound with anticipation to touch it, play with it, my face hurts from smiling.
In hindsight, 6 years ago on this day, I sat broken, crying inside and bruised on the outside. After 22 long years of being condemned, belittled, badgered and bludgeoned by an abusive husband, I no longer am a victim of domestic violence. I have been called a hometown hero. I am putting unity back in the community thru music, speak for my cause as a domestic violence victim advocate, and will be interviewing the top of the top at the crown jewel event for me. I never thought I would see this day!
