Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson has never been shy when it comes to expressing his feelings, especially on Twitter. When it comes to the New England Patriots, number 13 is not feeling the love.
The Pro Bowl wide receiver had a little something to say about the Buffalo Bills long-time rivals, the New England Patriots via his Twitter account on April 3.
“War is nothing to be played with. I apologize North Korea……but if ya’ll do bomb 1st…Bomb Foxboro, Mass. Sincerely,#BillsMafia.”
Some of Stevie's Twitter followers immediately responded to Johnson's somewhat insensitive tweet. One follower @DaJones19 replied to the tweet saying, “@StevieJohnson13 ummm chill. Lol”
Another Twitter follower, @JMBrooks17 advised Johnson that he should delete the tweet, saying:
“@StevieJohnson13 delete that bro w. the quickness unless you really wanna piss A TON of people off n generate controversy.”
Most Buffalo Bills fans and Twitter follows understood that Johnson was joking around and did not mean to show any disrespect for the New England Patriots or their fans, nor did he mean to diminish the escalating situation in North Korea. Later in the day Stevie Johnson tweeted something resembling an apology to New England Pats fans.
“PatsFans i lo...like yall also. ask any1 in my fam. ive said TheBoro is my fav place to play-bkuz you Pats fans are Live! BUT not for long..”
The Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots both are teams in the AFC East. There has been a strong rivalry between the two team’s that dates back to the 1960s, a time when the Massachusetts team was known as the Boston Patriots.
