Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Colin Brown, No. 74, would have been a restricted free agent, but has decided to sign a multi-year contract, BuffaloBills.com reported on Feb. 19.
The Buffalo Bills could have avoided losing Brown, 6’7” and 328 pounds, to restricted free agency by extending a one-year qualifying tender, but the Bills front office choose instead to re-sign Brown to a multi-year contract.
Colin Brown played in the first five games 2012 season, mostly on special teams. In week five he started as right guard against the San Francisco 49ers, but tore his hamstring, placing him on injured reserve two days later.
Colin Brown, 27, from the University of Missouri, entered the NFL as a fifth-round draft pick for the Kansas City Chiefs. Brown was released by the Chiefs and joined the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad. Brown was then signed to the Buffalo Bills 53-man roster on Dec. 14, 2009 and has mainly served as a reserve center and guard.
