The Buffalo Bandits announced today that the team will help raise money for three worthy causes at two future 2013 Bandits home games.
For the Saturday, March 23 home game against the Edmonton Rush, the Bandits will once again show their support for the fight against cancer by wearing special jerseys for their annual “Black Out Cancer” game. Fans will have two opportunities to win game-worn jerseys from this game.
Starting on Monday, March 4 at 9 a.m., fans can visit Bandits.com to bid on jerseys to be worn by the Bandits players during the first half of the March 23 game. Winning bidders for these jerseys will have the opportunity to have a loved one’s name embroidered into the back jersey number of the jersey they won. The Bandits player will then wear this jersey during the first half of the game as a way to honor or remember the person that was affected by cancer.
The online auction for the first-half jerseys will end on Monday, March 11, with the bidding for the first jersey closing at 7 p.m., followed by each subsequent jersey’s auction ending every five minutes after that.
The jerseys worn during the second half of the game will then be auctioned off at Bandits.com, with auctions beginning Monday, March 25 at 9 a.m. and ending on Monday, April 8. Bidding for the first jersey will again end at 7 p.m., followed by each subsequent jersey’s auction ending every five minutes after that. Net proceeds from the jersey auctions will benefit the American Cancer Society’s “Coaches vs. Cancer” initiative.
Bidders in all auctions must register online at Bandits.com. Photos of the available items can be found on the team’s website when they are available.
