Wildwood Naturist Resort - Decatur, TX
Wildwood Naturist Resort is situated on 118 acres just north of Decatur, Texas, within a one hour drive of most locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The resort is located approximately 50 miles northwest of the DFW International Airport.
Open year round, Wildwood members and guests enjoy the fresh air and the opportunity to get closer to nature away from crowded cities in a safe and wholesome clothes free atmosphere. The woods and meadows that define the grounds provide abundant opportunities to hike in the great outdoors clothed only by the sun. Abundant wildlife and seasonal wild flowers can be enjoyed on nature walks on the property.
Wildwood is a family-friendly resort with a policy of nondiscrimination and welcomes couples, families and singles to share in the experience of clothes free socializing and nude recreation where everyone is treated with respect.
About a one hour drive (63 miles) from downtown Dallas, Wildwood is readily accessible from anywhere in DFW. From the junction of I35 W and US-81 N/US-287 N, drive 38.6 miles north on US-81 N/US-287 N to FM 1810 (Old Chico Road), Decatur. Turn left onto FM 1810 and continue about 4.2 miles to Private Road 1179. The resort entrance is on the left. Follow Private Road 1179 0.3 miles to the resort office. For the safety and security of members and guests the resort is gated and controlled-access. There is a call box at the gate to make contact with the office staff.
The physical address is 241 Private Road 1179, Decatur, TX 76234. When arriving at the resort, stop by the office to register. The office is staffed from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sundays and holidays. Arrangements in advance are required of those who plan to arrive on any other day of the week. If it is your first visit, a member of the welcoming staff will provide you with a brief tour of the facilities to get you oriented and to show you to your accommodations if you are staying overnight.
All visits to Wildwood require prior arrangements and any overnight stay must be reserved in advance. The resort is unable to accommodate unannounced visits so do call ahead before visiting so that they will know to expect you.
When to go
The summer months, May-September comprises the peak outdoor nude recreation season in north Texas but Wildwood Naturist Resort is open year round. With monthly average high temperatures of 84 degrees F and monthly average lows of 42 degrees F in the area, there are plenty of off-peak days suitable for enjoying the outdoors at Wildwood. During the cooler months and during inclement weather, the resort boasts a spacious, climate controlled clubhouse for indoor activities.
Beyond the nature trails, Wildwood has two swimming pools and a spa, sunning areas and a pool-side covered patio, and a game room and community kitchen inside the large clubhouse. Wi-Fi is available at the resort.
Wildwood Resort schedules many themed parties and events throughout the year. Dancing and pot luck dinners are hosted on Saturday evenings most weekends. More members and guests are on hand on weekends and holidays which make those times the best bet for those looking to socialize with other like-minded folks.
Food and drink
Pot luck dinners are regular weekend and holiday fare at the resort and you are welcome to prepare and bring a dish to share with other members and guests. There is no other onsite food service so plan to bring food, snacks and beverages with you for your visit. You can also visit the Decatur Walmart Super Center or one of several other grocery stores and convenience stores in the community to stock up.
There is a fully-equipped community kitchen available in the club house that members and guests are welcome to use to prepare meals. Alcoholic beverages are permitted on a B.Y.O.B. basis but members and guests are expected to drink in moderation.
Beyond skinny dipping and sunbathing Wildwood offers a number of other outdoor activities with facilities like a grass volleyball court, horse shoes pit, Petanque court and more. There are the nature trails mentioned previously for leisurely nature strolls and plenty of room for active guests who run or jog. During April the resort also hosts the Skinnydipper Sun Run, an annual clothing-optional cross country 5K run. During the summer months there is water volleyball and there are pool tournaments held throughout the year.
Wildwood Naturist Resort is affiliated with the American Association for Nude Recreation, Southwestern Region and The Naturist Society. The club is listed on the websites of both national organizations.
The resort offers annual memberships for singles, couples and families. As of the publication date of this guide annual membership rates published as the Wildwood website were as follows;
Initial - $360 plus tax
Renewals - $300 plus tax
Couples & Families
Initial - $700 plus tax
Renewals - $600 plus tax
Non-member singles, couples and families are welcome to visit the resort as guests. The resort is singles-friendly and there is no quota policy for single males making Wildwood a good option for single male nudists/naturists who may face quota policies when trying to join or visit an area non-landed club.
Out of town guests are also welcome, making Wildwood a lodging option for nude-minded folks visiting or traveling through the area. Check with office for special rates on extended stays.
Dues and fees
Regular daily grounds fees for non-member guests who hold membership with AANR or TNS are $25 plus tax ($35 plus tax on holidays) for singles and $30 plus tax ($40 plus tax on holidays) for couples or families. Regular daily grounds fees for non-member guests who are not members of either national nudist or naturist organization are $35 plus tax ($45 plus tax on holidays) for singles and $40 plus tax ($50 plus tax on holidays) for couples or families.
There is a coupon available at the website good for $10 off regular day fees on a first visit to Wildwood. The coupon is not valid for special events.
At last report, the resort accepted cash, check and credit or debit cards for fee payment but you can inquire about available payment options when you call for a reservation. Per the website, rates are subject to change without notice.
For those wishing to stay overnight, for a weekend or longer, Wildwood offers tent camping sites, rental cabins and full hookup (50/30/20 amp service) RV sites.
Tent sites are $10 per night (plus daily grounds fees) for singles, couples or families. RV sites for visitors are $20 per night (plus daily grounds fees) and $15 per night for Wildwood members.
Cabin rentals for non-member guests are $85 for the first night and $80 for each additional night plus tax. For Wildwood members the rates are $70 for the first night and $65 for each additional night. For cabins there is a two-night minimum on holidays and during special events. Rooms include a queen size bed, television, microwave oven, small refrigerator, coffee maker, ceiling fan, private bath and a porch with swing. Cost of lodging is in addition to day fees charged on a per day basis.

As an American Association for Nude Recreation and Naturist Society affiliated club, Wildwood Naturist Resort adheres to traditional nudist/naturist principles and standards. You can expect an atmosphere of wholesome, non-sexual, family-friendly social nudity. Overt sexual activity, obscene or vulgar language or sexual harassment is not tolerated.
Traditional principles and standards require a commitment to fostering a wholesome, nurturing environment that promotes body acceptance and respect for all persons recognizing the essential wholesomeness of the human body and that life is enhanced by the naturalness of social nudity. Wildwood Naturist Resort welcomes all who are willing to conform to the resort's principles and standards; regardless of age, gender, marital status, religious beliefs, ethnic origin or sexual orientation.
Wildwood Naturist Resort is a nudist facility and nudity is required in the pool and spa. Clothing is only permitted when the weather or personal health circumstances require it. Otherwise members and guests are expected to be nude at all times when on the grounds.
- Observe all resort rules and safety regulations,
- Respect yourself and others by following appropriate rules of conduct; be polite, no gawking, no overt sexual activity or sexual advances, no obscene or vulgar language, always carry a towel with you to sit on,
- Shower with soap before entering the pool or spa,
- Dispose of smoking material and trash in appropriate containers,
- No smoking, eating, or drinking in the pool or spa and no glass containers on the pool/spa deck,
- Alcoholic beverages are permitted in moderation and public intoxication is not tolerated,
- Firearms, fireworks, or illegal drugs are not allowed on premises,
- No open fires permitted,
- Dispose of litter in receptacles provided,
- No pets in public areas from 5:00 PM Friday through 5:00 PM Sunday,
- Pets must be leashed and under owner’s control at all times,
- Pick up after your pets,
- Except for club-sanctioned events, quiet time is 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM Sunday through Thursday and Midnight to 9:00 a.m. on weekends,
- Video or photography is forbidden without the prior approval of the management and the subject(s) being videoed or photographed,
- Speed limit is 10 MPH and vehicles must stay on roadways,
- No genital body jewelry permitted.
